Who can attend Spring Concert?
Each family can order two seats in the auditorium at Spring Concert.
Children in kindergarten and younger can sit on a parent lap.
Also everyone attending Spring Concert
must have a ticket!
Two tickets per family.
Tickets must be ordered between
Feb. 17 and March 4th.
After March 4th any seats that are still available
will be available for families to get additional tickets.
So make sure that you order your tickets before March 4th!
Why are you making parents
order tickets?
Here is the situation:
a) We are adding 1st grade to the show, so more families.
b) Every year there is a family that brings 8 - 10 people and there is also a set of parents who don't get to see the
entire show because there are not enough seats - this does not feel right to me.
c) This is the last Fall/ Spring concert, and we may attract extra audience members ... and I think the parents should come first,
AND
d) We have extremely lucky, we over filled the auditorium every year... I don't want the fire marshal called to cancel our concert!
My first priority is that parents can see the show.
Is this the last Fall / Spring Concert?
Yes, is the short answer.
I adore teaching & performing with your children, and this will not change.
What will change is the format in which we perform.
I feel that the changes in performance format will give students more opportunities to explore areas of music, dance and drama. I also feel that these changes will give more children the chance to creatively adapt their performance.
Personally, I love bringing our community together to perform and share in the accomplishments of our children. This element I will strive to maintain.
Thank you for trusting me to make these changes, I very much appreciate your support!
How are “special parts” chosen?
There are some “special parts” for students at the Spring Concert.
I ask all interested students perform the “special part” for the class. If they are still interested in the part after performing for the class then I put their name in a “hat”. I draw a name out of the “hat” to determine who gets the “special part” at the Spring Concert.
Will my child be graded?
Yes, your child will receive a grade on his or performance.
However, if your child cannot attend due to other commitments, it will not be a problem. All students who cannot attend will take a simple performance test at school. In February a letter asking is your child will attend the Spring Concert will go home.
